Learn About Our Strawberries.

  • Strawberries are done for the 2025 season.

  • Hoods - Our most popular variety! This is the sweetest strawberry we grow; it’s abundance of natural sugars makes the berry break down quickly after its picked. Plan to eat, freeze, or process within 24 hours of picking. They are usually smaller and more orange-y in color.

Mary’s Peak - Our latest variety. These are giant, square-shaped strawberries that tolerate harsher weather conditions. They are incredibly sweet and hold up well after picking. Excellent strawberry flavor and our favorite to grow.

Sweet Sunrise - Our earliest variety. They are heart-shaped, red, and juicy strawberries that aren’t as sweet as Hoods but still a delicious Oregon berry.

OSU Test Variety - The berry with no name! This is a brand new variety out of Oregon State University that is truly one of our favorite berries. It's large, juicy, sweet, and delicious. We are the only u-pick farm on Sauvie Island to offer this variety.

  • Honestly - not long. The main reason Oregon strawberries taste so sweet and delicious is because they are loaded with natural sugar. These start breaking down as soon as the berries are picked. Plan to eat or freeze your strawberries within 24 hours of picking them.

The reason grocery store berries last longer is because they are bred for a longer shelf-life. They have less sugar and taste less sweet.
